As Fort Wayne grew to become a regional destination for quality medical care, the need for services for families of ill or injured children also quickly grew. Providing lodging and support services for those whose children are patients at Fort Wayne hospitals is the important work of the Mad Anthonys Children’s Hope House.
The Children’s Hope House was built in 2003 to provide a homelike environment where families of critically ill or injured children can cook, do laundry and receive the support of others in similar situations. It offers a haven where patients can relax in a private room between outpatient treatments. Thanks to the Children’s Hope House, fewer families are forced to camp in cars or on hospital floors.
