Over the last 60 years, Mad Anthonys Charity Classic has been one of the country’s premier charity golf events in the country, raising millions of dollars for charitable organizations in Fort Wayne. We’ve hosted some of the brightest stars in golf and entertainment. Pros like Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Sam Snead, Lee Trevino, Ben Hogan, Chi Chi Rodriguez, Curtis Strange, Cathy Gerring, Fred Couples, Juli Inkster, Tom Lehman and Fuzzy Zoeller, to name just a few.
On the evening before the Charity Classic, the Mad Anthonys host the annual Red Coat Dinner. In addition to celebrating of the accomplishments of the Foundation, the Mad Anthonys bestow the traditional Red Coat Recipient honor upon those individuals who have made a significant difference in our region. This year this annual honor will go to State Senator David Long, as well as the Fort Wayne Komets’ six-man ownership team – brothers Steven, Michael, Richard, David and William Franke; as well as Scott Sproat. Our 2017 Red Coat Recipients will be joining a very distinguished group of past honorees, including nationally known Neil Armstrong, Bob Griese, Peyton Manning, Vice President Mike Pence; and most recently, Bruce Dye, Chuck Surack and Keith Busse.
All proceeds from the Mad Anthonys Charity Classic and Red Coat Dinner will go to the Mad Anthonys Children’s Hope House.
